The Story Behind the Lens
During the stillness of 2020, I found myself drawn to photo albums I hadn't opened in years. Leafing through those pages reignited something I had nearly forgotten — the irreplaceable power of a photograph. Not a file. Not a scroll. A photograph: something you can hold, something that holds you back.
Looking through those images, I was transported — back to milestones, to ordinary afternoons and even the moments I had completely forgotten. The moment I saw the picture, it all came rushing back. That is the magic of photography, and it is why I do this work.
That experience became my purpose: to give others the opportunity to revisit the moments that shaped them — the monumental ones and the quiet ones alike. There is beauty in everything. It simply takes a trained eye to find it.
I have been working toward launching this website for some time now, and the moment has finally come. A Haitian proverb I carry with me says it best: "Lavi di ou, 'Ann ale', men ou pa konnen ki kote l'ap mennen ou" — Life says "let's go," but you don't know where it will take you. I don't yet know every door this journey will open, but I am grateful to be stepping through this one — and I would be honored to have you alongside me on this journey.
Thank you for your support. It means everything. I would love to capture your story — a memory preserved not just for you, but for the generations that follow.
A heartfelt thank you to my sister, Demir Montas, whose brilliant artistry brought my logo to life.
